What would you do if Ksh. 15 million hit your bank account overnight? Some would change their lives, help their family or even invest. However, some well-known Kenya’s personalities got the money they were dreaming of and then blew it all away. 

Nilichoma, a gripping new Kenyan Showmax Original docuseries brings to light the real-life stories of such celebrities.  

The premiere episode of the show featured the story of Stephen Kevogo.  He was a self-made man who, without any formal qualifications, hustled his way up the corporate ladder to become a Sales and Marketing Manager in the early 2000s and earned up to  Ksh 800,000 a week. His story should have been one of inspiration, but what followed was shocking. 

His life spiralled out of control after money he made opened doors to drugs, alcohol, and an endless stream of parties. In just a short time, Steve blew a staggering Ksh 15 million, losing not just his fortune, but also his job, his family, and access to his children.

His story brings to light how easily everything can slip away through your fingers when fame and fortune collide. It also highlighted how a lack of financial education can lead one to poverty.
